April 2014
Dear Praying Friends,
We are always happy to share our recent happenings with you all.  We celebrated our Missions Conference last month.  We were privileged to have Adrian Sandoval come to our church as our missionary speaker.  He is a Salvadoran missionary that our church supports, so everyone was glad to see him and hear him preach.  Missions Conference is a highlight of the year. We begin preparing for it with a special late night “Vigilia” for the men. They pray through the night that God’s hand would be on our church and on the Conference.  The next day, the ladies ministry has a Prayer Breakfast, where they pray all morning. We have these special prayer times every six months. When we meet, we go over the lists from the previous prayer service.  We are always greatly encouraged to see the way God is working. We counted over 20 answered prayer requests, ranging from improvements to our buildings to the salvation of special people in our church member’s lives.  After being encouraged that God does answer prayer, we start the Missions Conference.  We have missionary trivia time with prizes, and a special meal to end the Sunday service.  It was a great time of fellowship and encouragement.  Please pray that our people will continue to learn the importance of missions and keep sacrificing to sustain the missionaries we support as a church.
The Bible Institute just completed another quarter with record attendance.  The men happily received their updated transcripts with more courses completed.  The new quarter started this past week, and the men are excited to be studying Hebrews and Revelation.  Please pray for Steve as he continues to develop the curriculum and teach it. Please pray for the students as they embark on a new study of two important books.
An area of ministry that is developing is our teen ministry. We took six teenagers to a park last Saturday to evangelize.  It was the first time that many of them attempted this. At first, they were a bit shy, but after some time they were all passing out tracts, and trying to talk to people.  One of the teens went home and told her grandmother how much she enjoyed the experience.  We plan on continuing to help these teens serve the Lord. Pray for them, they have many of the same battles that teens in the States face.
The women’s ministry was very happy to see a special lady saved this past month. Her husband has been saved for about a year, and she has just recently started coming to church.  Some of the ladies had the chance to visit her home, and during that visit, she asked Jesus into her heart to save her.  Please pray for Edwin and Vanessa’s spiritual growth.

We always enjoy sharing a little about our family in each prayer letter.  But this time, we have a prayer request that is heavy on our hearts.  Steve’s mom was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago. While we do not have many answers right now, we are trusting God and seeking His wisdom.  Please pray for us as we wait for more details.  Pray that everyone involved (doctors, family members) makes the correct decisions that will ultimately bring God glory.  We thank you for your prayers and faithfulness.
